Hollywood Comes to Whittier

The Whittier Museum is pleased to announce the opening of our new exhibit "Hollywood Comes to Whittier."

Come join us at the Museum for an afternoon of family home movies made by Whittier residents from the late 1940s through the 1960s. These are from the personal collection of Jeff Vilencia, noted home movie collector and film buff, and will be a personal, up close look at America through the 8mm movie camera lens. On four minute silent rolls we will explore excerpts from six different Whittier families. Home movie footage maybe the most unique and valuable film record available now and in the future. Witness events important to each individual family, seen through their own point of view. Each small 50 foot roll of film contains 3,840 tiny photographs. Please mark your calendars and come to the latest event of our "Hollywood Comes to Whittier" exhibit. See you at the movies.

Hollywood Tea and Fashion Show
SAturday, June 7th
2:00 p.m.

Saturday June 7th, 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. at the Whittier Museum. Please join us for an afternoon of tea and a Hollywood glamour fashion show. Tickets go on sale Friday, May 9tyh at the Museum office and must be paid for prior to the tea. No reservation or holds on tickets will be accepted. Ticket prices are $25.00 for members and $30.00 for non-members. Please contact the Museum office at 562-945-3871 Tuesday through Fridays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
