Do I have to make reservations to visit the Museum?

Public tours are offered on a walk in bases on Saturdays & Sundays from 1 - 4. For school tours during the week (Tuesday & Thursdays only) reservations do need to be made as well as for research appointments.

Public Viewing - Saturdays & Sundays 1-4
School tours available by appointment only - Tuesday & Thursday 9:30 am - noon
Research appointments available by appointment only - Tuesday thru Friday 10 am - 3 pm

What are the hours of the The Bailey House?

Public Viewing - Sundays 1-4
School tours available by appointment only during weekdays. Please contact the Museum to schedule an appointment.

May I bring food into the Museum?

No, the museum does not allow food or beverages in the museum with the exception of water bottles.

How do I make arrangements to bring in a large group?

You may contact Lynelle Lujan, the museum's Office Manager, to schedule a tour for the Museum and/or the Bailey House. If you have a large group coming in during our public viewing hours please let the Museum know so we will be able to accommodate your group by having extra docents on hand.

How long should I plan to spend at the Musuem and/or The Bailey House?

Each tour takes ab out 45-60 minutes. If you have an appointment tour for both the Museum and Bailey House, the over all tour time will take about 2 hours.

Do you have wheelchairs available?

The Museum does not provide wheelchairs but the building is wheel chair accessible.

Can I give my own private tour of the Museum?

The Museum has docent lead tours only. The Whittier Museum has many items on open display and provides docents for the safety of the items and our visitors.

Who owns the Whittier Museum?

The Whittier Museum is a non-profit organization owned by the Whittier Historical Society .
